Now, let's explore the various types of paragraphs. The four main types are descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive.
1. Descriptive paragraph
This paragraph is used to describe someone, somewhere, or something. It uses sensory details to create an accurate representation in the reader's mind.
2. Narrative paragraph
This paragraph has to be used to tell a story or represent an event. It relies on chronological order and usually includes dialogue.
3. Exposition or expository paragraph
It explains or informs the reader about a
specific subject. Its always nonfiction because based on true subject. The
information is presented in a logical order, with facts and details to back up
the topic. Overall, the purpose of exposition or
expository text is to educate and enlighten the reader about a specific subject.
This paragraph have 2 kinds :
a. Hortatory exposition text is a type of text that tries to persuade readers to do or act in a specific way. It presents arguments and recommendations for the purpose of persuading readers to take a specific action.
b. Analytical exposition text is to persuade the reader to believe what the writer believes. Through critical analysis and reasoning, the goal of analytical exposition is to persuade the reader to accept a particular point of view or to understand a topic more deeply.
4. persuasive paragraph
This paragraph is used to hpersuade the reader to do something or believe something. It presents arguments and evidence to support the writer's point of view. Persuasive paragraphs, like expository paragraphs, discuss a single point however, they support opinions rather than facts.
